5k Race for the River

This is more than just a race - it's a vibrant celebration of our commitment to restoring and protecting the Anacostia River and its surrounding watershed! Whether you want to compete in the 5k race, enjoy a more leisurely fun run/walk, or enjoy food and music, there's something for everyone. Lace up your running shoes, bring your friends and family, and join us for a day filled with fun, community spirit and a shared commitment to a healthier river!

Event Schedule:

5k check-in: 7- 7:45 AM

Optional guided warm-up / stretching: 7:15 - 7:40 AM

Welcoming remarks for runners/ call to start line: 7:50 AM

5k run: 8 - 9 AM (a timed race on the Buddy Attick Lake path. Surface is packed gravel)

Check in for Fun Run/Walk: 8:00 - 8:45 AM

Fun Run/Walk: 9 - 10 AM (a single 1.25 mile loop around the lake, surface is packed gravel)

Music, Food Trucks: 9 AM - 12 PM
