Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 04:00pm to 05:30pm
Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum
104 Walker Street
$22.00 – $45.00 per person
Chelsea Gaia, Director of Programming & Events for Ventfort Hall, will share her botanical and historical insights on the art of Floriography, the Victorian language of flowers. A tea will be served after the presentation.
Did you know that flower arrangements in Victorian times were strategically executed to send messages to the recipient? Women would send bouquets to one another, sharing secrets, desires, and even threats in the floral combinations.
Chelsea Gaia is an avid researcher and student of life. Gaia is openly neuro-divergent and finds joy and fulfillment executing in-depth study and research in many disciplines, as well as the history of each particular study. Among her skills, she is a native plant expert for flora of the Pacific Northwest region of North America, a stained glass restoration specialist, a visual artist, a 20-year photojournalist, a seasoned graphic designer, and a multi-disciplined application scientist.
Tickets are $40 for members and with advance reservation; $45 day of; $22 for students 22 and under. Ticket pricing includes access to the mansion throughout the day of this event from 10 am to 4 pm.
