Join us for any or all parts of this day-long celebration of Latinx and queer art held in conjunction with "Teddy Sandoval and the Butch Gardens School of Art."

This daylong celebration of Latinx and queer art includes:

11 a.m.–noon: Tour of Teddy Sandoval and the Butch Gardens School of Art with curators C. Ondine Chavoya and David Evans Frantz

Noon–1 p.m.: Free Spice Root Lunch Buffet (vegan and meat options) with short presentations by representatives from the Queer Men of the Berkshires and the Berkshire Queer History Project (BQH). There will be Latinx and LGBTQIA+ student groups tabling as well as students collecting very brief oral histories of queer folks on behalf of BQH. (All are welcome, reservation required here.)

1–3 p.m.: Hands-on mail art workshop led by Erick Ramos-Jacobo, WCMA Program Research Assistant and Workshop Leader, and local artist and alumna Rachel Cruz (’23). This will include time in the galleries as well as time making art!

3-3:30 p.m.: Have a mid-afternoon treat with coffee and cookies in the lounge where student groups will be tabling!

3:30–5 p.m.: Panel discussion moderated by Associate Professor of Art Mari Rodriguez Binnie featuring short presentations by artists from the exhibition (Joey Terrill, Troy Montes-Michie, and Moises Salazar Tlatenchi) followed by a dialogue delving into the topics of experimental graphics, queerness, and Latinx and Chicanx identities.
