Exhibition - Emily Eveleth: One Must Have a Mind of Winter

Anderson Yezerski Gallery is pleased to present One Must Have a Mind of Winter, a selection of Emily Eveleth doughnut paintings from the archive. This is Eveleth’s 10th solo exhibition with the gallery since 1994.

These paintings continue to highlight Eveleth’s ongoing challenge to conventional understandings of genre. Crossing the boundaries into expansive landscapes, moody theatrical sets, or corporeal, fleshy monuments, the painting’s visual allusions welcome wildly diverse personal interpretations. With works spanning in scale from 100 x 74 inches, a size that invites a transcendent immersive experience, to 3.75 x 3 inches, we become highly aware of the profound act of looking.
