Notch Brewing & Tap Room, Salem, MA
Notch Brewing & Tap Room has one of the only year-round beer gardens (they use the traditional German term, Biergarten) in New England. Featuring communal tables, the set up faces the South River basin, and the atmosphere in sublime. In the cold weather months, heated stand ups keep guests from getting too cold. The list of beer and ale brewed here is impressive.
Charlie’s Kitchen, Cambridge, MA
For the very best in people watching, visit the beer garden at Charlie’s Kitchen. Featuring a birds-eye view of Harvard Square, the garden is open year-round, but only when the weather permits. In the summer and fall, however, it’s a fun place with a lengthy list of beers and lagers and some really good pub fare.
