la university louisiana late night food

The only thing worse than late-night studying or cramming for a test is being hungry at the same time. If you’re looking for a great place to meet up with friends or hang out on your own for some quiet study time, below are some of the best late-night food spots near Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

Kolache Kitchen, Baton Rouge, LA

Wanting to bring this European specialty pastry from his hometown in Texas, owner Will Edwards opened his first store near LSU in 2013. A second store was opened a few years later, but both offer delicious sandwiches and tacos in addition to the famous and very popular kolaches. The menu has savory varieties like sausage or bacon and cheese and boudin versions and sweet treats like fruit, nut, and cinnamon kolaches. Open until 3 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Louie’s Café, Baton Rouge, LA

Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner to hungry patrons in the LSU area since 1941, this 24-hour diner is a modern classic. Louie’s offers good food and great coffee and has been a popular staple for students and locals. You may have to wait for a table because this place is always busy, especially during move-in times, graduation, and football games, but the food is worth the wait.

My Louies obsession cannot be stopped.
