City of Lake Charles Veterans Day Celebration

Join the City of Lake Charles at the Lake Charles Veterans Memorial Park for a special Veterans Day celebration. This year there will be a special focus on women who've served their country in the military. Commander Elizabeth Newton, USCG of the Marine Safety Unit-Lake Charles will be the guest speaker.

Immediately following the program, a ceremonial groundbreaking will be held for the Louisiana Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The memorial, set to be located inside Veterans Memorial Park, will pay tribute to the 885 Louisiana Vietnam War casualties. This memorial, thanks to recent state legislation sponsored by Senator Jeremy Stine, will be the official and only State of Louisiana Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

Also happening at the Event Center is the Lake Charles Veterans Outreach event where the Mayor's Armed Forces commission will host various booths with information on veterans programs, mental health counseling, job assistance and more.
