Artist Talk and Exhibition with Alexis Braud: Fete Des Monstres

Join us on October 30th at the Roy House at 6 p.m. for trick-or-treating, spine- chilling storytelling, spooky Louisiana lore, and art with Alexis Braud!

Alexis Braud was born and raised in Lower Lafourche Parish. Years of travel and a lot of living brought her back to her bayou where she now lives with her husband and 3 kids. Her literary and art career has been eclectic, producing over ten children's books, a YA novel, a TTRPG manual, 2 podcasts (so far), and innumerable individual paintings and prints. She brings a dark fascination with old stories and haunted souls to her work and likes to pay attention to the less traveled roads in Cajun folklore. These tales find voice in every aspect of her work, and they will lead you to the deeper shades where the biggest fish bite and the sharpest teeth wait.

Wear a monstrous ensemble or a ghoulish get-up. We especially welcome tellers of tales. If you know a story of the fifollet, the rougarou, the kooshma, or lutins, come and share!
