Veterans Day Motorcade and Ceremony

The City of Elizabethtown will commemorate Veterans Day with a motorcade and the annual Veterans Day Ceremony.
Veterans are invited to participate in the a motorcade which begins at the American Legion Park, located at 801 North Miles Street in Elizabethtown, and concludes at the Veterans Tribute, which is located within the Nature Park at 1900 Ring Road in Elizabethtown. Participants are encouraged to arrive for line up no later than 9:45am as the motorcade led by the Elizabethtown Police Department will begin at 10:15am. The motorcade will travel out of the American Legion Park and proceed up North Miles Street, turning left on Ring Road and proceeding to the Veterans Tribute, where the ceremony will take place.
The ceremony is a coordinated effort between the City of Elizabethtown and American Legion Hardin Post 113. The event will begin sharply at 11:00am with the Posting of the Colors to commemorate the signing of the Armistice (first Veterans Day) on November 11, 1918, at the end of World War I. The keynote speaker will be LTC Michael Cooper from the 1st Theater Sustainment Command.
Those attending the ceremony are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, as seating is limited. The ceremony typically lasts 30-45 minutes. This event is free and open to the public.
