Mineral Mound State Park
This peaceful setting on the shores of Lake Barkley is historically linked to the author F. Scott Fitzgerald. The property was once the farm of Willis B. Machen, grandfather of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald. It’s not hard to imagine the serene, Gatsby-style era from this park, with idyllic days of playing golf and cruising the lake.
Birding
Bird watching is difficult on Mineral Mound State Park because it is primarily a golf course, but golfers might observe osprey, variety of duck, crane, gull, pelican, eagle, hawk, and finch while playing. Blue birds are also abundant due to park efforts placing bluebird boxes.
Boating
Launch your pleasure or fishing boat onto Lake Barkley from Mineral Mound Launching Ramp. Open year-round.
Fishing

This is a challenging 18-hole golf course. The front 9 holes are situated in a wooded area and many of the back 9 holes are flanked by lake views. A pro shop offers rental carts, clubs and golf merchandise. Open year round, weather permitting.
