Schedule of Events:

6:30 AM - 9 AM: 37th Annual Run for the Roses

1 Mile and 5K Race (All walkers and runners are welcome)

START AND FINISH LINE: Equity Bank

Race coincides with the ROSE HILL FALL FESTIVAL

There will be signs to aid traffic control. Races will be conducted regardless of rain. Restroom facilities will be provided

RACE SCHEDULE

Packet pickup (at race site)---- 6:30am-7:15am
Report to starting line (1 Mile)- 7:25am
Start 1 Mile race-----------------7:30am
Report to starting line (5K)----- 7:55am
Start of 5K race------------------8:00am

The Run for the Roses held in Rose Hill, KS is said to be flat and fast with an out and back course ran along Rose Hill Road.

Medals will be given for the TOP 3 MALE AND FEMALE FINISHERS in each age division for each race. TOP MALE AND FEMALE FINISHER in the 5K race will receive a trophy. The awards will be given at the finish line immediately following each race.

Packets can be picked up Friday afternoon, October 11th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and the morning of the race in the Community Room.

FEES INCREASE BY $5 ON RACE DAY!!!!! Race fees include a shirt. Sizes will be determined at online registration.

7:30 AM - 10 AM: RH United Methodist Church Pancake Feed

Start the day with a pile of flapjacks before heading out for a fun day of fall fest activities!

Location: RH USD 394 District building (across the street from Equity Bank)

9 AM - 3:00 PM: 35th Annual Car Show

Keith Simmons Memorial Car Show with LIVE music

9:30 AM - 10:15 AM: Parade Float Competition

2024 Theme: “Red, White, & Rock-It”

Entry categories include a vehicle, vehicle with trailer, horses, tractors, walkers and other. Prizes awarded on what float best represents the theme.

FLOAT COMPETITION SCHEDULE

- Line up in the Rose Hill High parking lot
- COMPETITION FLOATS SHOULD ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 9:30 AM and check-in with a Parade Official, who will direct them to their assigned location.
- JUDGING WILL BEGIN AT 10:00 AM sharp. Any competition floats that are not in position by 10:00 am will not be judged.
- Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place based upon the overall interpretation of this year’s theme – “Red, White, & Rock-It”.
- NON-COMPETITION FLOATS SHOULD ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 10:15 AM and check-in with a Parade Official.
- Failure to be in the assigned location on time may forfeit the entrant’s rights and may cause them to be placed in the back of the line.
- Additional details (position #, where to enter, etc.) will be e-mailed to all registered floats the week of Oct. 1st.

10 AM - 4 PM: Craft Fair

Location: RH Middle School gym and multipurpose room

10 AM - 7 PM: Food Court

Grab your favorite festival foods from a variety of food trucks at the food court just south of the RHRC!

11 AM - 12 PM: Parade

Join our community parade! Option to enter to win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in our annual float competition! Float must showcase the 2024 Fall Festival Theme, “Red, White, & Rock-It” for a chance to win.

11 AM - 2 PM: Chicken and Noodle Fundraiser

Members of the RH Senior Center will be serving delicious homemade chicken & noddles, mashed potatoes, dessert and a drink from 11:00-2:00.

$7 per person

12:00 PM to 4:00 PM: Gaga Ball

Jump in the pit and challenge friends to a pick up game of Gaga Ball! Easy to learn and fun for all ages!

Location: Family Field Events just south of the rec center

12 PM - 10 PM: WEEE Carnival

Wristband price: $30 (each session)

Location: parking lot east of RHRC.

12:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Pumpkin Decorating Competition

Decorating Time: 12:00-3:00pm

All teams must be finished and pumpkins must be on display by 3:00pm to be available for judging.

Teams of 1-3 people can decorate a pumpkin for a chance to win “Best in Show.”

Limited amount of carving tools and paint will be provided. It’s recommended to bring your own decorating supplies.

15 large pumpkins (for adult and adult/kid teams will be available.) First come, first serve.

15 mini pumpkins (for kids, age 16 and under) will be available. (Paint only.) First come, first serve.

The public will vote from 3:00-3:30pm for “Best in Show” large pumpkin and “Best in Show” mini pumpkin.

Prizes will be awarded at 3:30pm during the Awards Ceremony.

12 PM - 4 PM: 3rd Annual Family Challenge

Stop by the Family Challenge area between 12:00 and 3:00pm to participate in the following family challenges to win the prize and Family Challenge Trophy to proudly display for the year!

12 PM - 4 PM: Archery

Kids and adults, practice your archery skills with volunteers from All Things!

Location: Family Field Events located south of the RHRC building

12 PM - 4 PM: Face Painting

Free face painting by 3 talented artist with, The Enchanted Mermaid!

Location: Family Field Events just south of the RHRC.

12 PM - 4 PM: Mini Animal Petting Zoo

Come snuggle and pet sweet mini animals!

12 PM - 4 PM: Cake Walk

Grab a numbered spot on the circle and dance around to the music! When the music stops, if your lucky number is drawn, you’ll win a delicious cupcake!

12 PM - 4 PM: Bounce House

Bring the kids to jump their energy out on two inflatables, one obstacle course to race through and one mini bouncer from Blue Moon Inflatables.

12 PM - 10 PM: Tomahawk Truck

The Tomahawk Truck - they will bring their fully loaded mobile axe trailer to Fall Festival. This includes a PA system to play your tunes, colored lights on the trailer for evening parties, and of course AXES!

$10/10 throws or $30 for an all day bracelet.

1 PM - 4 PM: Rose Hill Police Dept. Information Center

Say hello to members of the Rose Hill Police force and parents can take home a packet to complete to help keep kids safe.

Location: RHMS Multipurpose Room

1 PM - 2 PM: Turtle Races

Round up your turtles and put on their racing shoes! Prizes will be given to each heat winner and overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

Please DO NOT paint your turtle. We will mark turtles on race day.

This is a youth only event.

1 PM - 3 PM: Junior Firefighter House

Junior firefighters hone their skills with the assistance of Butler County Fire District #3 Firefighters by hosing down the "burning" windows of the firehouse. All the while, the Firefighters are giving the youngsters tips on fire safety making it both fun and educational at the same time.

On School Street by Main St, just north of the Carnival.

1 PM - 4 PM: Historical Society Open House

Join us on Saturday, October 12th for the Historical Society's Open House!

The old 1880's house is set up to that approximate era. All of the "Rose Hill" collection will be in the new building. This will include the Harris Farm Supply, Rose Hill Bank, Virgil Cox Blacksmith, an archive of family stories and memorabilia and so on.

We will have olde time games, bonfire with marshmallows, demonstrations and fun for all.

Also enjoy cookies and drinks.

All free of charge.

1:30 PM - 3 PM: Pedal Tractor Pull

REGISTRATION BEGINS AT 1:30 PM.
Pedal Tractor Pull starts at 2:00 pm

Ages 4-12 only

Bring your John Deere fan out to compete in this fun festival favorite.

Location: Sidewalk southwest of the RHRC along RH Road

1:30PM - 3:30PM: Character Meet and Greet

Come meet, visit, and take pictures with Belle, Buzz Lightyear and a Teenage Mutant Ninga Turtle from 1:30-3:30!

3:30 PM: Awards Ceremony

Awards will be announced and presented to the winners of the medallion hunt, family challenge, and pumpkin decorating contest.

6 PM - 10 PM: Street Dance

End Saturday night of the Fall Festival with the Street Dance! Grab some dinner from the many food trucks at the food court, then head on over to get your groove on!
