McPherson Opera House
The McPherson Opera House was built less than 20 years after the city of McPherson, Kansas, was founded, and its history is richly intertwined with that of the city. The McPherson Opera House was saved from destruction in 1986 by the McPherson Opera House Preservation Company (now the McPherson Opera House Company).On the National Register of Historic Places, the Opera House is considered "one of the best examples of opera house architecture in Kansas."The restoration of the exterior and rehabilitation of the commercial portion of the Opera House are complete. The auditorium and arts center are scheduled for completion in early 2010.

The McPherson Opera House Company (formerly the McPherson Opera House Preservation Company) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation whose mission is "to establish McPherson Opera House as a historically significant gathering place for cultural, entertainment, and educational opportunities."
