The 13th annual Kansas Book Festival will occur , hosted by the Washburn University Library. The Festival is free and open to the general public, both adults and children. Over 45 prominent authors will give presentations based on new books in nonfiction, fiction, and poetry, plus picture books and young adult novels. Attendees can buy featured books and get them signed. The festival also includes outdoor performances, food trucks, a children's activity tent, and exhibitor tents with publishers and additional authors from the Kansas region. Among this year's featured authors are NYTimes Fiction Bestsellers Sara Paretsky and Alex Grecian, the Nebraska Poet Laureate Matt Mason, and Children's Choice Award Winner Bridget Heos.
