They're always on the move anyway, why not make it official? Join one of the fastest growing and confidence boosting youth sports in the country by challenging them to become triathletes! This youth triathlon is specifically designed to let the kids be the stars of the show. Athletes aged 14 years and younger will compete in individual age groups in this race that is truly an event for all abilities.
The JCPRD Kids Triathlon is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event. The term “sanction” refers to the compliance of a multisport event to USA Triathlon’s safety requirements. Safety plans, course maps, and event details must be submitted for review by experienced USA Triathlon staff. This ensures events are safe and fair competition environments.
An athlete's age for any USAT sanctioned race will be his/her age as of Dec. 31 of the current race year. The age he/she is on 12/31 will determine his/her racing age group. If an athlete is due to "age-up" into the next group, it will happen at the beginning of the year, not after the athlete's birthday. This action aligns regular U.S. age group racing with the method used by USA Triathlon for its National Rankings Program.

Pre-Race Briefing
Virtual briefing will be shared with athletes prior to race day.
Beach Swim Course
Athletes will begin on the east side of the beach and run across the beach to the west side.
Athletes will then enter water and swim in the "lane" lifeguards create on their left and buoys/ropes on their right.
Once athletes exit the water they will run up the beach, out the gate and into the transition area.
Awards
In-person event: awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. All finishers will receive a finisher's medal at the finish line.
Virtual event: each participant will receive a finisher's medal.
