Celebrate Independence Day in Derby

Schedule Of Events:

43rd Annual Firecracker Race - July 4 - 4-mile at 7:30 a.m./1-mile at 8:30 a.m.
High Park, 2801 E. James St.

Join the Derby Running Club for its 43rd annual Derby Firecracker Race on the 4th of July! Pick between a newly certified 4-mile course or a fast certified 1-mile course.  Enjoy a looped course that begins and ends in Derby's High Park. A $50 cash reward to our fastest male and female runners in each race will be awarded as well as age group awards.

Independence Day Parade - July 4 at 10 a.m.
2024 Route: The parade begins at Bulldog Dr., proceeds west on Madison to Georgie, south on Georgie to Market and east on Market back to Westview. The route is different due to road construction that will be taking place on Madison Ave.

Derby Historical Museum Open - July 4, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Woodlawn and Market
The museum has something for all ages. Admission is free, donations are welcome.

Fire Station 81 Open House - July 4, 10:30 a.m. to noon
715 E. Madison Ave.
Derby firefighters will have fire trucks on display along with the Fire Safety House following the parade.

Rock River Rapids Open
12:30 to 5 p.m. (closes early due to the holiday)

Fireworks in the Park - July 4 at 6 p.m. (Fireworks begin at approx. 9:40 p.m.)
High Park, 2801 E. James St.

Bring a blanket and lawn chair and enjoy a fun evening in Derby at High Park.

Food trucks: Cheezepanzee, El Gusto, Taters N Toppings, Bongo Fruit Smoothies, Tickled Pink, Honey and Rue’s, Life Gave Me Lemons, Kona Ice and DZ Ice Cream and Frozen Treats.
Free photo booth (near the amphitheater)
ADA parking will be available at the Darrell Zimmerman Family Shelter parking lot.
No personal fireworks or alcohol allowed in the park.
