Free Concert. Whiskey City Summer Fest returns to the Lawrenceburg Civic Park as part of the Lawrenceburg Summer Event Series presented by Civista Bank, As a local celebration of summer sun and music in the streets of Lawrenceburg, Whiskey City Summer Fest is set to bring another great lineup to the river city in 2024. This year’s free concert event will feature The Fabulous Thunderbirds, along with the blues stylings of Duke Tumatoe and local favorites and Sol Records recording artists, The Renegades.
The Fabulous Thunderbirds are widely known for their classic albums like T-Bird Rhythm, and Tuff Enuff. Powered by hits like the title track and “Wrap It Up,” Tuff Enuff went platinum, selling more than one million copies. The band is lead by Kim Wilson who has been nominated for Grammy Awards six times and for Blues Music Awards more than 20 times. Their latest release Struck Down features guest performances by Bonnie Raitt, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac), Taj Mahal, Elvin Bishop, Keb’ Mo’
and Terrance Simien and has the band actively touring across the US and abroad.
Fellow Hoosier, Duke Tumatoe, is an American blues guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. He has gigged with Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, B.B. King, Willie Dixon, Buddy Guy, John Fogerty and George Thorogood. He was a founding member of arena-rock giants REO Speedwagon. He has released fifteen albums as the bandleader of Duke Tumatoe & The All-Star Frogs and Duke Tumatoe & The Power Trio. His 1988 live album I Like My Job was produced by John Fogerty. He typically plays more than 100 dates per year.
The event will also feature Food Trucks, a Beer Garden, Destination Dining and Free Parking. Come join us for a celebration of summer and music at the Lawrenceburg Civic Park in Lawrenceburg, Indiana Don’t forget your lawn chair! No coolers or pets allowed.
