The new Play It Again Sports location is owned by local resident, Joe Molosky. After finding a passion for hockey as a child that continued into adulthood, Molosky has always understood the mental, physical and emotional benefits of playing sports. Wanting the same for his children, he got them involved in various sports early on and quickly experienced the typical frustration of buying new sports equipment for growing kids. Aware of the rising costs for youth sports, Molosky and his family are now committed to helping Northwest Indiana children and families find joy through sports by making them more accessible and ensure they are not deterred by the high costs.
Beginning Thursday, September 5 and throughout the weekend, Play It Again Sports in Merrillville is inviting locals out to experience the following:
·Thursday, September 5: Ribbon-cutting with Crossroads Chamber of Commerce at 9:30 a.m., gift cards to the first 25 people in line, a drawing for four Cubs or White Sox tickets at 8 p.m. and customers will receive a complimentary Play It Again Sports water bottle or sunglasses with a purchase.
·Friday, September 6: Customers will receive a complimentary Play it Again Sports water bottle or sunglasses with a purchase and the winner of a Connor Bedard Blackhawks Jersey will be drawn at 8 p.m.
·Saturday, September 7: Customers will receive a complimentary bag of Smackin’ Seeds with a purchase and a raffle for four Blackhawks tickets will be drawn at 8 p.m.
·Sunday, September 8: Customers will receive double FiveStar points on buys and sales and a $200 gift card to White Hawk Country Club will be raffled off at 5 p.m.
