About the Show: Shakespeare’s Only“Christmas Play” actually has nothing to do with Christmas! “Twelfth Night” was the Elizabethan “Mardi Gras”, with men playing women, servants playing masters and a good many more dirty jokes than were traditionally allowed. Viola, separated by a shipwreck from her twin brother, Sebastian, disguises herself as a male servant, “Cesario,” and falls in love with her lord, Duke Orsino, even as the Duke’s great crush, Countess Olivia, falls in love with “Cesario!” And, along the way, EVERYBODY hates on Malvolio. This is the closest Shakespeare ever came to cranking out a musical, and Tim Mooney, taking on ALL the characters, has given brand new tunes to Shakespeare’s old words!
About the Tim Mooney Repertory Co: The Tim Mooney Rep has produced some fourteen award-winning one-man plays over the last twenty four years, eight of which he has presented at the Indy Fringe, including "Lot o' Shakespeare," "The Greatest Speech of All Time," "Breakneck Hamlet," "Breakneck Julius Caesar," "Shakespeare's Histories," "Breakneck Comedy of Errors" and "Breakneck Romeo & Juliet." It was at the Indy Fringe that Christel DeHaan "discovered" and generously supported Tim Mooney's work.
This production contains some mild adult language and bawdy gestures. It is appropriate for audiences 13+
