Race Day(August 31st) Packet Pickup and Registration - 6:00am-7:30am - Fox Island Park

Ages 13(by 12-31-24) and up

Sprint Triathlon - 500 yard swim; 12 Mile Bike; 3.1 mile run

Sprint Duathlon(1 mile run to start)

Sprint Aquabike that finish in Transition 2

2 Person and 3 Person Relays for the Sprint Triathlon

Limited to 500 total racers

SWIM COURSE

*This is a lake swim at Bowman lake with a planned beach start, 3 main turn buoys on the course

*A optional mass start will precede the individual TT style start for those less confident

*Buoys will mark the course turns as mentioned

*Usually, we have 8-12 kayaks line this swim course with lifeguards in many of the boats

*For the TT portion of the race start, race numbers do not determine starting order.  This is a self-seeded start by choice.

*Your individual chip time starts when you cross the mat to enter the water, and stops at the run finish.

*Swim caps will be provided

*Water temperature will be borderline this type of year wetsuit legal.

*Water temperatures up to and including 78 degrees wetsuits are allowed

*If the water temperature is between 78-84 degrees  you can still wear a wetsuit but will be asterisk in results

*Water temperatures is at 84 degrees or higher no wetsuits allowed.

TRANSITION

*Participants are to place bicycles, helmets, sunglasses, run shoes, hats, etc in the transition area

*Maximum of 8 bicycles per rack, first come first serve placement, we have ample amount of racks at this race.

*Transition will be in the the grass area just across the main lot by Bowman Lake, or very near it.

*Only participants and volunteers can enter the transition area.

*Participants enter transition for the first time during the race after the swim finish to get their bicycles and head out onto the bike course.

*Remember to buckle your helmet BEFORE mounting your bike!

*Participants enter transition for the second and final time during the race after finishing the bike course, re-rack their bicycles, and start the run.

*There will be an aid station near the transition

*No nudity is allowed in transition, please plan race clothing accordingly.

BIKE COURSE

*The bike course is open to traffic with police at the park exit and all intersections stopping traffic.

*There will be a few caution signs in place for the first and last 1/2 mile of the course as you are still in the park as their are a few curves in this section only.

*All turns, and turn-around points, will be marked with roadside signs and tape markings.

*We will have Andy Grote with MED SPORTS on hand to fix last minute bike mechanicals and help with tire pressure if needed.

*All participants are responsible for fixing their own flat tires and minor mechanicals while on the bike course.

*There are no aid stations on the bike course, but there is one near transition at the bike exit and on the run exit after finishing the bike (plus several on the run course).

*A vehicle will be sweeping the bike course, and can pick up any participant who has had a race ending mechanical if needed.

*All bike styles are welcome as long as they do not have a motor of any kind and do not pose out of the ordinary danger to other riders

*See ‘USAT Rules’ for more info on cycling rules.  Cycling rule specifics and other rules will be gone over in the pre-race meeting

​RUN COURSE

*The run courses will be paved trails in the park and paved county roads

*The courses will be marked with signs and tape.  Volunteers will also help direct runners.

*There will be aid at transition, 3/4 mile, 1.5 miles(run turn around), and 2.25 miles - these will have water, coke, gatorade
