Mission

Writers' Theatre is a professional company dedicated to a theatre of language and passion. The word and the artist are our primary focus. In our intimate environments, we offer productions that bring our audiences face-to-face with literature's greatest creators and creations.

History

Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Artistic Associate Marilyn Campbell founded Writers' Theatre. The focus was immediately upon the written word and nurturing the artist. Productions had to take place in an intimate venue. They found the perfect location through a mutual friend who knew the owners of a newly opened bookstore in Glencoe who were looking to develop a theatre program in their store.
