Night Out in the Park: Mid-Autumn Festival
Set in Stone Gathering Space
3155 South Lake Shore Drive
Free
This event is outdoors, family-friendly, free, and open to the public.
This festival is a time when, in their home countries, people in the Chinese diaspora and all over Asia gather with family to celebrate a bountiful harvest, typically under the full harvest moon.
Come celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival with Chinese folk music and dance performances, astronomy station, fashion shows, live DJ, lantern making, and more. We will be making seed-bombs, paper lanterns, cyanotype sunprints, and end the evening in a procession down to the lake to observe the largest moon of the year.
This event is organized by CAMOC in partnership with the Roots & Routes Initiative, Chicago Park District’s Night Out in the Parks Program, and the Field Museum.
