Larson's Family Farm
We invite you to participate in the seasons by traveling to our farm to experience picking your own pumpkins and Christmas trees. While here to choose pumpkins in the fall, you will find gourds, squash, and fall harvest decorations. When you pick your pumpkins on a weekend, you can also see the farm on a hayride. Alternatively, you can schedule a special event; we offer evening bonfires on fall weekends and host school groups during weekdays.
After cutting your own Christmas tree in the winter, you can choose to purchase one of our handmade evergreen wreaths or lengths of roping. At this time of year, hot apple cider draws people into the Barn Store where antiques, including antique Christmas decorations, are for sale.
Year-round, we board horses and grow evergreen nursery trees. Boarders enjoy using our indoor and outdoor arenas in addition to the scenic trails on our 100 acre farm. Nursery customers visit in early spring and late fall with plans for windbreaks, privacy hedges, or general landscaping. Whatever your interest may be, we are glad to have you visit our farm!
History of the Farm
Larson's Family Farm was formerly known as Larson's Berry Farm. The farm business continues to be owned and operated by us, Steve and Rhonda Larson. From 1977 until 1995, we grew pick-your-own strawberries and for many years pick-your-own raspberries. While we have shifted our crop focus to new farm projects, we enjoyed the challenges and successes that accompanied raising the berry crops and thank the customers who patronized us during our first two decades of operation. Our family has farmed in northern Illinois for more than a century.
