Gurnee Legions of Craft Beer Fest
Veterans
Our veteran and active duty personnel community are always in need of help. Rent payment, gas money, transportation, or just an ear to listen. Veterans feel more comfortable dealing with other veterans who better understand their needs. Bottom line we believe veterans helping veterans is a winning mission.
Active Duty Military and Families
Active duty personnel and their families many times need to look outside the military for assistance. Active duty assignments can put stress on the personnel and their families. Friends proximity to Naval Station Great Lakes and our local VA facilities (James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center) adds to our mission that requires local support.
Community Involvement
Gurnee American Legion Post 771 is a true partner with the surrounding communities. We participate in Americanism programs like the Great American Program which teaches young students about our flag, the state capitals, and the U.S. Constitution. We award scholarships to local students
Friends of Gurnee American Legion (FOGAL) depends on the generous support of our community partners and friends. We consider our position as a first responder to veterans and other community organizations who come to us for help. Veterans feel more comfortable coming to a fellow veteran for assistance than general community organizations. Help us to help those who defended our nation and paid a price we can never repay.
