TOMORROW’S FREEDOM

2022, dirs. Sophia Scott and Georgia Scott
United Kingdom, 90 min.
In English and Arabic and Hebrew with English subtitles

TOMORROW’S FREEDOM, made over the course of 5 years, gains intimate access to the family of imprisoned Palestinian political leader, Marwan Barghouthi. Often described as the ‘Palestinian Nelson Mandela,’ Barghouthi is serving five life sentences in an Israeli prison. Through the Barghouthi family and a collage of in depth interviews from the people who know him best, including his dedicated and accomplished wife, Fadwa, the immersive documentary is an unflinchingly honest and transformative journey into the saga of Palestinian prisoners, their loved ones, and political representation of Palestinians under occupation.

Preceded by the short films:

DAKHLA

2023, dr. Nick Leffel, 6 min.

A young muslim man from the Levant must face his longing to fit in while living in Latin America, and thus is forced to reconcile with the dark history of his homeland.

HIGH ROADS

2023, dir. Giuliana Racco, 19 min.

Interviews with four women concerning the paradoxical conditions of the search for well-being in Occupied Palestine provide a glimpse into the multiple ways in which Palestinians (refugees and non, alike) try to ‘live well’, using their bodies, breath, and minds as tools for everyday resistance to military occupation.
