Veterans Day Assembly

The Keokuk Community School District is hosting a Veterans Day Assembly on Nov. 8 in honor of those who have served in the military at the Keokuk High School. The event will be held at 9:30 a.m. and include musical entertainment and is open to the community. Students in grades three through twelve will also attend.

Veterans are specifically invited to attend and transportation will be provided by KCSD for veterans from Mississippi Terrace, River Terrace and Keokuk Senior Lofts. Loading will start at 8:30 a.m. and riders will be returned at about 10:30 a.m. Transportation is handicap accessible, and there will be help for veterans who need it to get in and out of the vehicle. Also, veterans are welcome to come ahead at 8:30 a.m. for coffee and donuts.

Veterans who are also KHS graduates are encouraged to email a photo and provide your graduation year, your branch/rank/title and a service picture if possible to Anna.WestermeyerMarl@keokukschools.org. The photo and information will be used in a slideshow for the assembly and then it will be posted on Facebook. Those who submit info do not have to attend, but are encouraged to join us.
