D.K. Steakhouse takes steak very seriously, with offerings “From the Butcher” and “For the Steak Connoisseur” like a 15 or 30-day dry aged bone in rib eye. Choose your steak accompaniment, from options like blue cheese butter, béarnaise sauce, sansei demi-glace or crab Oscar style. There are local beef, lamb and pork options, traditional surf and turf items, and all the requisite sides, such as baked potatoes and creamed spinach. Lovers of the traditional steak house will not be disappointed.
Hy’s Steakhouse, Honolulu, HI
This steakhouse, located in the Vive Hotel, is another upscale atmosphere, with cozy tables and seating and dim lights that make the dining room more intimate. The staff is very attentive and professional and the menu hits all the classics, along with specialty entrees like a prime filet of beef wellington and Hy’s famous roasted rack of lamb. Reservations are recommended, as this popular standby attracts large crowds.
Haleiwa Joe’s, Haleiwa and Kaneohe, HI
This local favorite is in a neighborhood area, which can be confusing to find, but the view is lovely and the open-air concept is attractive. Unlike some other spots on our list, Haleiwa’s is casual enough to feel comfortable in your beach attire. The prime rib is a crowd favorite, but be warned they have been known to run out in the evening if crowds are large. Slow roasted, and served bone in with au jus, garlic mashed potatoes, and seasoned vegetables, it’s delicious eaten with a cold cocktail.
Duo Steak and Seafood, Wailea, HI
Another spot with a beautiful oceanfront view, Duo does an excellent job and is located in the Four Seasons resort. You’ll find Durham Ranch all-natural beef grilled on local Kiawe wood, along with a variety of seafood, salads, and a wellness section that includes gluten-free and vegetarian options. Try the poutine-style twice baked loaded potato along with your steak if you’re feeling extra indulgent.
The Signature Prime Steak + Seafood, Honolulu, HI
Located on the 36th floor of the Ala Moana Hotel, The Signature truly has sweeping views of the entire city and coastline. The ambience is what you expect from a high-end steakhouse, with a piano lounge, cozy booths, ocean view tables and even the option to have a more private dining experience in the wine cellar. You’ll find true staples like shrimp cocktail and Oysters Rockefeller to get started, followed by prime cuts of beef, fresh seafood, signature sides and delicious wine and cocktails.
