B.I.R.R. Mauna Loa Access Road Fun Run
Looking for an amazing run to experience the “upper elevations” of the Big Island?
Join us on August 17th, 2024 for Big Island Road Runners 1st ever fun run up Mauna Loa Access Road off Hwy 11 in the Volcano area. 7:00 am start.
Start at about 4000 foot elevation at the parking lot for “Bird Park” participants will run or walk up paved road through beautiful Koa forest to the top….. or not! Go as far as you like – your choice. Just get it done in 4 hours
Starting point to top is approximately 10 miles, so 20 miles round trip – if you’re ambitious.
Big Island Road Runners will have a few aid stations set up along the route and snacks at the bottom for when you finish.
There will be sign up day of race between 6:30 to 6:50.
Free to BIRR members - discount given when you register.
$10 donation for non-members.
