Southside Scramble
Atlanta’s only intown trail race, hosted at Southside Park, the city’s sole trail system and one of its best-kept secrets. Runners will enjoy looping singletrack, roller coaster descents, gravel-strewn stream crossings, powerline climbs, rock hazards, marsh passings and wildlife sightings, right in their back yards. This approximately 15K course through pine- and hardwood-shaded forests will leave them doubting they are inside the Perimeter. All proceeds from the race will benefit trail building and stewardship organization MTB Atlanta.

Course Info:
The race launches from the north end of the parking lot, heading south and counter-clockwise around the ball fields for about half a mile. Racers enter the trailhead, moving counter-clockwise on the Evergreen Trail, onto the Connector trail and over a South River tributary and its bridge. You’ll go left onto the Hickory Connector, arrive at Aid 1, and onto the Hickory Trail loop, moving clockwise. After another Aid 1 visit just after mile 5, runners will go south on the powerlines, up to Hot Dog Hill, then to the Oak Trail, moving clockwise again for about three miles, hitting Aid 2 just shy of mile 7. Back onto the powerlines and north to Aid 1, out on the Hickory Connector, over the creek, south onto the marsh trail, skipping over the park drive for a last counterclockwise Evergreen Trail touch, popping out at the parking lot for a 10-mile finish.
