During the European Film Festival of Atlanta the Consulate General of Belgium will present the Academy Award winning film 20 days in Mariupol. The screening will take place on Friday, May 10 from 7 - 8:35 p.m. at the Tara Theatre and is being done in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and government. The Oscar-winning film offers “an unflinching look at the human toll of the war in Ukraine.” A portion of proceeds from the event will go to the Atlanta-based relief organization, HelpingUkraine.us, to assist in their humanitarian outreach projects in the warzone.

HelpingUkraine.us supports on-the-ground efforts to provide much needed day-to-day relief. Consul General of Belgium in Atlanta, Michel Gerebtzoff, said of the Consulate’s film choice and partnership with Helping Ukraine, “Films allow us to feel many emotions and to see things outside of our normal day to day lives… We thought we could give back by showing the powerful movie to our Atlanta community while giving back to the Ukrainian community.”
