Cherokee Theatre Company History
1986
Cherokee Theatre Company was founded in 1986 by a group of theatre-lovers who wanted to bring the arts to Cherokee County. The troupe, then called Cherokee Little Theatre Players, began performing in various venues throughout the county and sponsoring events for local schools.
2001
The Cherokee Little Theatre Players formally changed their name to Cherokee Theatre Company. They also became a 501(c3) non-profit organization.
2021
CTC is currently in its 36th season, making it the longest running theatre company in Cherokee County.
