12pm: Once on This Island JR


With its poignant story and catchy Caribbean-flavored score, "Once on This Island JR." is a highly acclaimed original theatrical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's famous fairy tale, The Little Mermaid, and the Tony-nominated Broadway musical by the legendary writing team, Ahrens and Flaherty. 2pm: Angry Black Woman 101

Don't miss this PROVOCATIVE solo show couched in the story of a truthful dilemma in the workplace. Kathryn Seabron exposes how Black women suffer through microaggressions and are held to higher scrutiny, how their well-being is never a consideration, and how white tears are used to deflect and disenfranchise Black women, written and performed by the incredibly talented Kathryn Seabron. *Children under 16 will not be admitted. 4pm: Dissonance

Join Angela and Lauren in this provoking production of "DISSONANCE, the play," where two lifelong friends have weathered life's storms together and are now embracing a new chapter in their lives—opening a cafe in a historically Black community. Witness the revelation of their vastly different perceptions of race in this explosive stage performance. Masterfully written by Marci Duncan in collaboration with Kerri Sandell (Mobile, AL)

6pm: Call Mr. Robeson

Liverpool, UK-based actor Tayo Aluko meticulously revives the spirit of one of the most remarkable figures in history, Paul Robeson, a world-famous artist, and civil rights campaigner. The stress of being harassed and branded a traitor in his own country, the USA, threatens to push him over the fine line between genius and madness. This powerful tour-de-force performance was also produced at New York's Carnegie Hall and London's West End. (Liverpool, UK)

8pm: Black Broadway Cabaret

Join the Memphis Black Arts Alliance for an unforgettable evening at the **Black Broadway Cabaret**. This spectacular event features Memphis's favorite African American stars performing iconic Broadway tunes. With powerful singers, dynamic dancers, incredible musicians, and top-notch production, this show promises to be a festival highlight. (Memphis, TN)
