Sensory Saturdays at Manatee Lagoon

Manatee Lagoon–An FPL Eco-Discovery Center is launching Sensory Saturdays, aiming to create a more inclusive environment for individuals with autism and related disabilities, as well as those with sensory sensitivities. Introduced during Autism Acceptance Month, Sensory Saturdays will occur every third Saturday of the month from 8 - 9 a.m., offering a sensory-friendly atmosphere for guests. The center will adjust lighting and sound levels and provide sensory-friendly kits with activities tailored to individual needs. Additionally, team members at Manatee Lagoon underwent specialized training to increase understanding and sensitivity for autism and related disabilities.
