Activities:
Syrup Making:
Watch how syrup is made. It takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup, simply by boiling the sap to remove water and thus concentrate the sugar that makes maple syrup.
Sled Pulls:
Come and see which tractor can pull the weighted sled the longest distance!
Kids Music Expo:
Join us for the Suwannee Spirit Kid’s Music Camp Expo! See what the multi-year camps offer children that want to learn to play a musical intrument “hands-on” style. Camps are free to children 5-17 years of age and instruments are provided. Instruction is available for guitar, fiddle, banjo, harmonica, ukulele, drums and vocals. This Expo does not require a reservation.
Blacksmithing:
Blacksmithing is the art of forging metal using tools like hammers and anvils to make objects, such as hinges, nails, hammers, and more. It was a common practice before the industrial revolution when most towns had their own town blacksmith shop, also known as a “village smithy.”
Saw Mill Operation:
A sawmill works by cutting logs into lumber using large bandsaw blades. The same process is repeated over and over, log by log, to produce high-volumes of rough cut lumber. An amazing sight to see.
