Getdown Downtown Street Party
Maitland has expanded the next Getdown Downtown street party to add some of the area’s best food trucks, special guest Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream, a mini golf course and more.
The free event on Independence Lane will feature live music from local rock cover band Skin Deep, street vendors and a kids play area.
The food trucks will include artisan-style pizza from at The Wandering Goat – the second rolling eatery from Chef William Young, who also operates the popular Hayburner food truck. The Goat serves up 10-inch pizzas from a wood-fired brick oven using made-from-scratch dough and tomato sauce as well as locally sourced wood, produce, meats and cheese. Kelly's Homemade Ice Cream – one of Maitland’s newest downtown businesses that is set to open on Independence Lane in late May – will bring its signature pink-and-white ice cream truck to Getdown Downtown for a sneak peak of their tasty treats. Visit: www.kellyshomemadeicecream.com.
Local favorite Mohawk Smokehouse will join the food frenzy with its popular barbecue. Maitland Chocolate Factory also will attend.
Enjoy Maitland’s downtown restaurants such as Sanford Brewing Company-Maitland, Houndstooth Kitchen & Eatery and Boku Sushi.
Holes To Go Orlando will set up a 9-hole mini golf course in Independence Square complete with greens, putters and balls. An inflatable bounce house also will be available along with family games on the lawn.
