The Fall Festival is an annual event sponsored by the city to celebrate the birthday of The City of Bushnell. Held the third Saturday of October, this one day event starts with a parade at 10:00 a.m. and concludes with a spectacular fireworks display shortly after nightfall. Over 20,000 visitors have been reported to attend this festival and enjoyed the various types of food and crafts available.
Parade applications and entry fees are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024. Vendor applications and fees are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024.
During this full day of fun, the public can enjoy a variety of games, contests and foods, as well as numerous arts and craft displays. Dancing, music and a variety of performing arts are also scheduled throughout the day.
It's time to channel your inner warrior Viking and visit the Axe Throwing trailer at the 39th annual Bushnell Fall Festival on Saturday, October 19th from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. A monetary prize of $200 will be awarded to the Viking with the highest score. Each participant will be given 5 practice shots and 10 scored shots. This is a free event, so be sure to thank the Beesley family, as they will be working the event, as well. It's not only Pumpkin Spice season but it's time to join in the fun and be 1 of 12 businesses/organizations to enter the Round Hay Bale Decorating Contest. These masterpieces will be used to celebrate and promote the 39th annual Bushnell Fall Festival on Saturday, October 19th.
The decorating location is Bushnell Public Works at 211 E. Southland Avenue, Bushnell. The round hay bales will be available to be decorated between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. beginning Monday, September 23rd through Sunday, September 29th. The completed bales will be placed on display throughout the city beginning Monday, September 30th.
Thank you to the Sumter County Sheriffs Office for sponsoring the Butterfly Encounter again at the 39th annual Bushnell Fall Festival on Saturday, October 19th. The exhibit is back by popular demand! The butterflies were a huge hit and if you missed it last year, you have another chance! The encounter is located in the Kid's Area/Little Pumpkin Lane. This interactive exhibit promises to entertain kids of all ages. See you there!!!
The Log Sawing Contest is back again so find a partner and get ready to compete in your division.
