West Palm Beach’s Winter in Paradise Finalizes Program for 8th Annual Event

Final details and honored guests are all falling into place for West Palm Beach’s8th Annual Winter in Paradise holiday event, hosted by the West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). This FREE night of festivities takes place this Friday, Dec. 6, from 5 – 9 p.m. EST at Heart & Soul Park located at 825 N Rosemary Ave. in West Palm Beach. The CRA has transformed the park into a magical winter wonderland, immersing guests in the vibrant culture and community spirit of the West Palm Beach’s Historic Northwest District. The event has finalized its roster of live entertainment featuring:

o   UB Kinsey Orchestra

o   UB Kinsey Band

o   UB Kinsey Chorus

o   UB Kinsey Dance 

  • Holding it all together? DJ Sho’ Nuff is back and ready to start the holidays off right!

New for this year is Rohi's Readery’s Winter Wonderland, a festive, interactive Kids' Corner honoring myriad traditions that light up the holiday season. Founded in 2021 and recently relocated to the Northwest District a block from Heart & Soul Park, Rohi’s Readery is an award-winning social justice driven children's bookstore and learning center dedicated to critical literacy that promotes inclusivity and diversity by honoring historically marginalized communities. At the Kids’ Corner—running throughout the evening from 5-9 p.m. kids can explore various holiday traditions through fun, hands-on crafts that celebrate the “all”-idays at these rotating craft stations:  

  • Three Kings Day: Crown and Star Crafts – Design dazzling crowns and stars inspired by the journey of the Three Kings.
  • Las Posadas: Piñata Making – Create and decorate festive piñatas that capture the spirit of community.
  • Hanukkah: Menorah Crafts – Build mini menorahs while learning about the miracle of light.
  • Kwanzaa: Unity Dolls – Craft dolls that symbolize togetherness, inspired by the principles of Kwanzaa.

Rohi's Readery’s Winter Wonderland also features these hands-on creative vendor stations, including:

  • "Holiday Glow Up" – Face painting that brings seasonal characters and traditions to life.
  • "Glitter and Glam Button Bazaar" – Make your own festive buttons!
  • "Tinkerspace Workshop" – Build eco-friendly holiday trinkets.
  • "Winter Wishes Mural" – Add your art to a collaborative community masterpiece.
  • "Dreidel Games Arena" – Join in the fun of board game traditions.
  • "Umoja Play House" – Solve puzzles while learning about unity and togetherness.
  • "Stocking Stuffers" – Choose a book to take home, courtesy of local organizations.
  • "Book of MY Dreams" – Create your own storybook inspired by the season.
  • "Wishing Tree" – Write your hopes and dreams for a greener, brighter future.
  • "Garden Box Wishes" – Craft ornaments that celebrate nature and sustainability.

In other details, Mayor Keith A. James and City Commissioner Christy Fox will lead a special holiday lighting ceremony in the park to kick off the evening. West Palm Beach Office of Sustainability will be giving away free trees to local West Palm Beach residents and businesses (pre-registered trees can be picked up between 5 and 8 p.m., and walk-ups are welcome from 5 to 9 p.m. during the event). The West Palm Beach CRA is also excited to celebrate the Grand Opening of Camile's Flowers & Gifts (618 7th St.) and Wild Rose Wine & Daiquiri Bar (620 7th St.), both located across from the southwest corner of Heart & Soul Park. Finally, guests can enjoy a selection of delicious savory bites at the event, available free of charge while supplies last.
