Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum
About Us:
The Museum is located in the heart of the Everglades on the Seminole Indian Big Cypress Reservation. Just over one hour from the Fort Lauderdale and Naples areas, the Museum offers exciting tours, exhibits and educational programs, all centered around the fascinating history and culture of the Seminole Indians. The Tribe has made Big Cypress their home for more than one hundred years and the Museum and its locale provide a glimpse into the lifestyle and traditions of the Seminole people.
Built in 1997, the Museum is home to more than 20,000 archival and artifactual items belonging to the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Permanent and rotating galleries showcase some of these items. The Museum property also features a raised boardwalk winding through a natural cypress dome where you'll encounter a recreated Living Village and Ceremonial Grounds. Learn about indigenous plants and their traditional uses by the Seminole.
