Flags for Heros 2024
Dover Capital City Rotary and Delaware Tech’s Terry Campus will celebrate the Memorial Day holiday with 400 flags that will proudly fly from May 22nd to May 31st
The annual project, sets up more than 400 flags at the intersection of Route 13 & Scarborough Rd., Dover, that will be seen by hundreds of thousands of travelers. It is a collaboration between the Rotary club and the college to remind the public about the importance of honoring past and current heroes from all walks of life, including military, police, fire service, medical professionals and all first responders. Honorees can also include teachers, mentors, or anyone who positively influenced another's life.
The flags will be set up Wednesday, May 22 and will remain up until Wednesday, May 31. A double page in the Delaware State News on Thursday, May 23, it will identify flag sponsors and honorees. Deadline for receipt of checks to be included in the ad is May 17.
Flag sponsorship is $50 with the proceeds going toward the club’s community and other projects throughout the year in addition to providing scholarships at the college. It is the club’s largest fundraiser of the year. Visit Facebook/Dover Capital City Rotary for more information about the club.
