Rock band on the showmobile stage.Wethersfield’s favorite Beatles cover band, Number Nine, closes out the serieswith a unique twist. Wethersfield Historical Society is officially naming Number Nine’s Keeney Koolers appearance a “60’s Night” in a nod to the upcoming “Decades” exhibit. WHS will give away “smiley face” buttons (while supplies last) and the society’s table will be serving Tang. Start thinking about those forgotten items in basements, attics, and closets associated with a particular decade - 1950s thru the 1990s - that might be iconic enough to feature in the exhibit. Let curator Kristina Oschmann know. Wear your tie-dye and let your freak flag fly. Number Nine, a long-time Wethersfield favorite, consistently gets the audience up on their feet and dancing. While larger in numbers than the original Fab Four, it’s great to have the added resources on hand for the denser music the Beatles generated in studio. Be sure and stake out your space on the lawn early for Number Nine.

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, food and beverages, and don’t forget your dancing shoes. Come early and stake out your space on the lawn in front of the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center (200 Main Street, Wethersfield) for a great time. Concerts take place outdoors on the showmobile stage and thanks to the generosity of three private donors. admission is free. In the event of inclement weather, concerts move indoors to the Ballroom at the Keeney.
