Summer Camp: Jr. Marine Biologist

Put on your lab coat and grab your goggles – this in-depth program gives campers a taste of what it’s like to be a professional marine biologist. In our education lab rooms, they’ll learn how to do experiments through multiple hands-on investigations. Campers will also set up, stock, and maintain an aquarium with animals like shrimp, crabs, and snails collected right in the Aquarium’s backyard! They’ll get an intro to field work during our trip to Calf Pasture Beach, where we’ll gather biodiversity data. Finally, they’ll use their new biological knowledge to design and carry out a scientific investigation of the behavior of some of our ambassador animals. On the last day of camp, family and friends will be invited to hear all about their results! Campers will also get an opportunity to experience the Aquarium’s  4D theatre.
