Stop by and chat with the artist Robert Jawitz about his photographs of the many facets and moods of the Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, Connecticut.
Robert Jawitz is a retired architect living in Northford (North Branford) CT. He says of these photos:
“Every morning I walk in the Hammonasset State Park for my exercise. I go first thing in the morning whenever I can get in. During the busy season in the Spring and Summer and early Fall,it opens at 8 am, but in the other half of the year it officially opens at 7:30 am but I’ve gotten in earlier. The Park is really beautiful in the winter. The sky is dramatic, often with a colorful sunrise, and the light is horizontal from the low sun. The rain and cold makes for interesting moods and the places are usually deserted being too cold for the beach. This makes for wonderful photos.”
He also compiled a book from these photos. This book is on display at the rostrum where people enter. It was privately printed with 100 # paper in gloss so it can’t be purchased in book stores. Contact him or the library if you want to purchase one.
Registration is not required to attend this IN PERSON event.
