D.Colabella Fine Arts is proud to present two artists who appreciate nature and have different ways of showcasing it. These two photographers have been selling in this community for years, and are now coming together for the first time to show their work and offer them for an attractive price just in time for the holidays. Find your scene, and get it as a fully framed piece or order a print for yourself or a loved one.

"I love photography but it isn't typically shown in many galleries," said Owner Dee Dee Colabella. "We are excited to show this collection and invite anyone to join who may appreciate art and wants something more affordable to give to a loved one or treat themselves to a beautiful natural scene on their wall."

ABOUT THE ARTISTS DYLAN MILLER

Dylan's fine art photography has always reflected his love of nature, but only recently he developed a new direction for his art. With a love for landscapes, the pandemic brought a lot of restrictions on traveling. However, Dylan was working as a jewelry photographer at the time, and took his specialized macro lens into the backyard and started capturing the tiny landscapes that are everywhere in any backyard. After his first few tries, he was hooked. Using advanced photography techniques he now specializes in "macro landscapes" as well as his forest photography. His goal is to show that there is no need to travel to discover the dream like exotic scene, there are stories constantly unfolding in the tiny worlds at our feet, and the quiet dignity of our local landscapes are the cosmos in which they occur.

DEBRA BURGER

As a photographer and graphic designer, Burger challenged herself to create a series of images from specimens that she grew or collected in her garden. This endeavor presented the perfect blend of two of her passions, photography and horticulture. Her approach in the Botanicals series looks at the garden through a close-up view of color, form, and texture.

Burger developed this unusual approach to capturing images without a conventional camera, instead, she employs a flatbed scanner. This allows for greater-than-life scale and clarity of minute details, resulting in a unique perspective for the viewer. The Botanicals series shows objects abstracted against a stark black background, allowing the mystery of nature to rise to the forefront.

Burger ran her own marketing communications firm, serving as the principal, art director and graphic designer. She also served as a faculty member in the Graphic Design Department at Rochester Institute of Technology. Later in her career, she was an art and photography educator for teens and adults. Debra's work includes design, photography, collage, mixed media and fiber arts. She is a member of the Silvermine Guild of Artists and the Ridgefield Guild of Artists.
