Keane Foundation 5K Walk and Run
The Richard M. Keane Foundation was established to create a 9/11 Memorial Sports Center in the Wethersfield community. Richard Keane and two other Wethersfield men died in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001. The Keane Foundation offers quality enrichment programming to all the Wethersfield Elementary School students. Its focus has always been on providing enrichment that allows the children to grow skill and build confidence, improve social and emotional skills, build life skills, connect with peers, and improve attendance. Our programs continue to give students opportunities to try new things and find out what they're passionate about, outside of the structure of the classroom.
While in Old Wethersfield you can experience the our nation’s heritage in an authentic, living, New England village, whose artifact-rich museums, historic homes, shops and places of interest are nestled among tree-lined streets. You'll find 50 houses built before the Revolutionary War; 100 built by the time of the Civil War; and another 150 built shortly thereafter. Each fascinating home captures the essence of the style in vogue at the time.
