D.Colabella Fine Arts Gallery presents…
JUXTAPOSITION
Thursday, March 14 to May 12, 2024
Opening Reception: Thursday, March 14, 2024, 6–9 p.m.
D.Colabella Fine Arts is proud to present two artists who explore texture and the effects of light, with very different outcomes. Eve Boase creates free flowing pieces with many curves and interactions, while local artist Terrence Mahon explores hard angles, prismlike structures and the role of shadows in the art experience. “We are always mindful of the dynamic between artists when we do a pairing for a show, but this show in particular felt very natural. The way that these two artists’ works come together form a show that examines how we interact with our daily surroundings and how we can find meaning or comfort in the many textures we encounter daily,” said Dee Dee Colabella, owner of D.Colabella Fine Arts.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
EVE BOASE
Eve Boase, aka Eve B, is an independent Australian artist based in New York and is known for her vibrant textured pieces. With a background in performance arts and production, she seeks to create joy as a catalyst through all her art. Her journey began out of the desire to create art for her own home and fell in love with the process of creating dynamic and uplifting textured works. Consumed by the process of becoming…her art is driven by exploration and growth.
Creating has become a daily source of deep meditation, Eve has found that this medium is the only therapy that makes sense for her; the intense concentration brings her to true presence. Her current selection of works is drawn from the idea that we can hear and feel color; this chosen spectrum reminds us of certain relationships and times with oneself inspiring periods of growth.
TERRENCE MAHON
As a product designer evolving his vision to art, Terrence introduces three-dimensional sculpture in the direction of interior wall art. Beauty, order, and meaning have been the core output to his design philosophy and process. His design direction is influenced by naturally occurring elements of light, wind, water, stone, and trees. The surfaces he creates represent the beauty in the end state of what the natural elements have left behind. His works are empathetic to interior architecture and decor styles enabling versatility with the placement.
