Become a United Way Reader!
Read with kids, Have fun, Make a difference!
At United Way, our vision is a community where every child has the opportunity to succeed in school.
One example is United Way Readers, a program that pairs a volunteer reader with a student for an academic year (with help from United Way, teachers, the school and the school district) to support children struggling to read on grade-level.
How you can help:
You are invited to spend an hour, one day per week reading with a student as part of the United Way Readers program! Historically, 93 percent of participating students increase their literacy skills as a result.
