The musical tale of Tevye, a dairyman, his wife, Golde, and their five daughters, who cope with their harsh existence under Tsarist rule in the 1905 Russian village of Anatevka. Songs include “Matchmaker”, “If I Were a Rich Man”, and “Sunrise, Sunset.”
Based on Sholom Aleichem stories by special permission of Arnold Perl.
Book by Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick.
Produced on the New York stage by Harold Prince.
