Exhibition: Stripped

The artistic process of destruction and resurrection can reveal truths, unveil vulnerabilities, and engage memory. Walker Fine Art presents STRIPPED, an exhibition highlighting the delicate interplay between form and void. This dynamic showcase of six artists working in photography, mixed media, collage, and steel exposes the multiplicity of creation through reducing, distilling, tearing, removing, and shredding. What remains is not merely the remnants of the material's past, but a palpable memory woven into something entirely new, inviting viewers to witness the transformative power of expression through intentional subtraction.

Featuring:

ZELDA ZINN uses collage and photography to resurrect and change each creation’s function from carriers of relevant information into pieces of a new visual puzzle in which meaning is free to be re-interpreted.

SANDRA KLEIN reveals hidden narratives through her masterful play of light and shadow. Imagery of flora is met with collage and embroidery in effort to create a new image filled with acceptance and joy.

MORGAN ROBINSON's curiosity takes form on a larger scale than others. Robinson’s metal sculptures resemble strips of ribbons as they bend and flow off the wall and sometimes stem from the ground. Robinson beckons the viewers into a realm of endless possibilities with his new installations.

DOUG HAEUSSNER's multimedia work revolves around the transformative power of repurposing forgotten narratives. With an arsenal of meticulously collected and curated materials, Haeussner evokes a remembrance of bygone eras. These artworks delve into the essence of nostalgia, inviting viewers to rediscover the lost allure of printed media and reflect on the transient nature of time.

THERESA CLOWES’s new body of work is a visual feast of color, movement, and texture. In collaboration with the Rocky Mountain Land Library, Clowes’s paintings dive into how historical and cultural data influence our relationship with water. Through each painting, Clowes seeks to strip information down to the most basic elements so we can connect back to our environment.

LEE HEEKIN seeks to find the balance between chaos and order, confinement and flux.  Using leather as a line, Heekin explores the thread of life’s nonlinear path in the larger tapestry of human experience in this new body of work.
