Unfurling: The Old L.A. Zoo

Experience the enchantment of a Heidi Duckler Dance performance during golden hour, as we transform into luminous pollen poufs and embark on a captivating journey through the historic ruins of the Old L.A. Zoo.

A one-night-only, site-specific collaboration between Heidi Duckler Dance and muralist Kim West. West’s installation includes sculptural fabric flows, a mural assembled from 2,000 handmade ceramic pieces, and an illustration of nebulous flora forms, that form a performance about the joyful imagery of flowers, color, and wonder.

As the soft glow of light bathes the scene and the sun sets behind Bee Rock, Heidi Duckler Dance’s choreography guides phosphoric luminescent performers amidst the ruins, leading the audience on a mesmerizing journey of discovery and imagination.
