Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park in Coloma, California, will come alive on Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the picnic area behind the museum. Experience what life was like during the California Gold Rush.
·Learn what it was like to be a miner in Coloma and what tools were used to find gold.
·Visit the miners’ store to pick up supplies.
·Learn how to keep your clothes clean from the laundress.
·Have your ore assayed and stake your claim at the claims office.
·Visit with the blacksmith as he makes items to use in the mines.
·Learn about the people who were involved in the gold discovery at the millworkers’ cabin.
·Don’t forget to visit our historic buildings.
