Intro To Acrylic Painting

This class introduces students to the fundamentals of acrylic painting and explores traditional and contemporary techniques through a variety of subjects including imagination, still life, self-portrait, landscape, and figure. Through the exploration of line, shape, and value composition, students will learn how to create expressive representations of still life, nature, and the built environment in their paintings; develop basic color theories and an understanding of how to observe and render light and shadow; explore drawing styles and methods using observation, interpretation, and inventive processes, and gain a deeper understanding of acrylic as a medium of painting and expression. No experience necessary, all are welcome!
